Understudy run - which apart from a couple of moments was really smooth with some excellent performances (especially Ben Warwick as Keynes). Why is this show on here? It's about access to the arts for all, but it's playing at one of the ponciest theatres in the west end with obscene ticket prices. The 'discount' price is £95. Whoever is producing this appear to be descended from actual gangsters. Great script mostly, the odd bit of clunky exposition in the first half, but many beautiful sequences and some great weaving of economic theory in a way that doesn't slow things down or become imprnetrable. Terrible direction. It's just been made to look pretty and 'impressive', but that bears no relation to the heart of the show. Wrong venue, wrong director, wrong production company. I look forward to amazing small-scale productions of this in years to come.
