Absolutely brutal. As difficult a watch as I've had in the theatre but in a sort-of-good way. The blood, needles, nudity, senseless violence were appalling to see and very visceral and real but something about their movement and watching it all happening in the just over 90 minutes you were there was kind of poetic in the end. A few walk outs throughout the show were entirely expected. Although brilliant performances, I did wonder how the ensemble get through 8 shows or so a week of that and the clean up of blood must be an absolute nightmare for stage management. A really interesting evening but not one I want to repeat any time soon! Sarah Kane wrote for the stage in the way that not many others can... or allowed to!
