The puppetry was really impressive, especially the three different scales used for the BFG and the humans, and some of the performances were excellent. There were very funny moments with the two army generals, and the Queen was great. The story itself felt too disjointed, though, relying on smaller set pieces rather than building a really gripping narrative. A good family show overall, and I’ll always have a soft spot for anything Roald Dahl.
