Three women hurry to their childhood meeting place for news from London, where tension is growing between Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. As royal gossip reaches their rural lives, another rumour much closer to home begins to threaten them. The play draws parallels between ordinary women and the political world above them, testing what solidarity means under a system shaped by male power.
A darkly comic historical drama that places royal upheaval beside rural friendship, using gossip, misogyny and female solidarity to connect the two worlds.
Tudor history, female friendship, political parallels and dark comedy about power and misogyny.
