Sally thinks of herself as a happy person who does not let small things get her down. But she is living with an illness that can make her feel far from the person she wants to be, and she is determined that nobody should know about it. The piece follows the gap between the happiness she projects and what she is trying to conceal.
A comic cabaret-style piece with music, using Sally’s determination to stay outwardly happy to talk about illness, secrecy and the difficulty of admitting when things are not OK.
cabaret storytelling, dark comedy, emotional honesty and characters hiding how they really feel.
