Harold Pinter Theatre · London

A woman’s happiness keeps spilling into song, sometimes only in her head and sometimes loudly enough to disrupt the whole village.

First Night is a theatre diary for logging the shows you've seen and discovering what to see next.

Comedy
The story

Allegra bursts into song wherever she goes, from home and shops to the street, with some music imagined and some erupting into public performances. Her brother Ronen and carer Anna try to contain the chaos without crushing the happiness that drives it, as changes in Allegra’s mind make that balance increasingly difficult.

In the room

A comedy shaped by sudden songs, dance and the contrast between private fantasy and public disruption, with care and cognitive change running beneath the mayhem.

Good fit if you like

musical comedy, eccentric central characters and stories about care, family and changing minds.
