DramaSatire

The story

Set around a bid for the 2048 Olympics, the play follows two municipal IT workers whose joke becomes a surreal proposition for Gaza’s future. Their supposed victory leads into questions of occupation, bureaucracy and reconstruction, while imagining what it would mean for Gaza to become a place of international gathering rather than siege and destruction. The piece draws on real-life testimony, including accounts from Gaza.

In the room

Satire and absurdity sit alongside the realities of occupation and rebuilding, using an improbable Olympic bid to frame a speculative vision of the future.

Good fit if you like

political satire, speculative futures, bureaucratic absurdity and drama grounded in real testimony.
