On 4 October 1936, Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists plans to march through East London. Jewish residents, Irish dockers, trade unionists, communists and other locals come together in opposition, while Sammy, Mairead and Ron try to shape their own futures amid the confrontation. The musical centres ordinary people caught in a struggle over their community and the forces trying to divide it.
An ensemble historical musical with a contemporary score, combining personal stories with the collective action and political confrontation surrounding the Battle of Cable Street.
