In 1930s New York, Bobby Child would rather dance than join his family’s banking business. After a failed audition, his mother sends him to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose on the rundown Gaiety Theater. There he encounters Polly Baker, whose father Everett has been warned of the foreclosure, and who has already vowed to get even with the banker responsible for threatening the theatre.
A 1930s-set romantic musical comedy moving from backstage New York to a struggling Nevada mining town, with dancing, show-business ambition and conflicting priorities driving the setup.
