Exhausted salesman Willy Loman returns unexpectedly to his Brooklyn home as work, memory and worry about his grown son begin closing in.
First Night is a theatre diary for logging the shows you've seen and discovering what to see next.
In 1949 Brooklyn, travelling salesman Willy Loman comes home in the middle of the night after a failed business trip, exhausted and mentally unsteady. His wife Linda urges him to seek work closer to home, while Willy fixates on their 34-year-old son Biff, once a promising school athlete and now drifting between jobs without a clear direction.
A family tragedy centred on work, expectation and disappointment, with Willy’s declining state of mind placing pressure on the stories the Lomans tell about success.
family tragedy, mid-century American settings, strained parent-child relationships and stories about work and ambition.
