The story
Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey’s rock-and-roll musical follows the teenagers of Rydell High in 1959 as romance, friendship, sex and peer pressure complicate their final year at school.
In the room
Rock ’n’ roll, hand-jiving ensemble numbers, broad comedy and teenage bravado, with a sharper story underneath about fitting in and performing the identity your friends expect of you.
Good fit if you like
Classic musical comedy, 1950s rock ’n’ roll, high-school stories and big ensemble dance numbers.
