Horrible Histories: Barmy Britain - The Best Bits
Britain's strangest rulers and revolting habits take the stage.
First Night is a theatre diary for logging the shows you've seen and discovering what to see next.
The story
This comic history show races through some of the bloodiest, oddest and most embarrassing episodes in Britain's past. Monarchs, soldiers, criminals and ordinary people appear in sketches that turn gruesome facts, political blunders and unpleasant daily habits into an introduction to history that keeps the messier details intact.
In the room
Short sketches, songs, wordplay and rapid character changes create a variety-show structure, with historical information delivered through jokes rather than a single continuous plot.
Good fit if you like
gruesome history, comic sketches, silly songs and badly behaved monarchs.
