Infamous Anne
Anne’s carefully controlled life is knocked sideways after she hits a stranger with her car.
First Night is a theatre diary for logging the shows you've seen and discovering what to see next.
The story
Anne has built a small, guarded life for herself, but the accident brings Billy into it and leaves both of them dealing with the consequences. As Billy faces the fallout, Anne is pushed towards memories she has kept buried and a future she had not imagined. Penelope Skinner’s comedy centres on a woman whose sense of who she is begins to shift.
In the room
The comedy sits alongside more tender material about memory and identity, letting awkwardness and emotional upheaval occupy the same space.
Good fit if you like
character-led comedy, complicated new relationships and stories about lives disrupted by unexpected encounters.
