Nikolai seems to have built the life he wanted. Now his marriage, career and appetite for any of it are beginning to collapse at the same time.

Stone approaches Chekhov as a recognisable modern family drama, finding comedy in bad behaviour, social awkwardness and people talking around feelings they are considerably less good at confronting.
