The story

In a rural Georgia high school, five young women are studying Arthur Miller's The Crucible when its portrayal of John Proctor begins to trouble them. As they form a feminist club and confront rumours and secrets within their own community, the questions raised in English class become increasingly personal. Kimberly Belflower's coming-of-age play follows the girls as they reconsider whose stories are believed, whose behaviour is excused and who gets called a hero.

In the room

Teenage dialogue, classroom debate and dark comedy run alongside a pop soundtrack, with a set text from English class driving the plot.

Good fit if you like
