The story

The play dramatises the negotiations that led to the Kyoto Protocol, focusing on the struggle between climate representatives seeking international agreement and fossil-fuel interests trying to delay or weaken action. Big Oil’s representative, Don Pearlman, uses legal manoeuvres and misinformation to defend industry profits as delegates attempt to build consensus around a global response to climate change.
