Macbeth is a Scottish general who is told by three witches that he will become king. Spurred on by his wife and his own ambition, he murders King Duncan and takes the throne. The crime brings no security: paranoia drives further killings as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth begin to unravel under the pressure of the power they seized.
A tragedy driven by prophecy, ambition and escalating violence, with supernatural forces feeding a tightly focused study of guilt, fear and political power.
