Maybe Things Are Okay
A routine night out is knocked off course by unexpected confessions, leaving four young friends to deal with what comes out.
First Night is a theatre diary for logging the shows you've seen and discovering what to see next.
The story
Written collaboratively by Ella Barnett, Jo Wickham and Becky Popović from real coming-of-age experiences, the play follows four young adults through one night as grief, sexual identity and break-ups surface. It looks at the stories people hide behind saying they are fine, and at the friends who help them believe things might work out.
In the room
A real-time ensemble play that mixes humour with what the friends finally confess, first staged at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023.
Good fit if you like
coming-of-age stories, ensemble plays about friendship and stories drawn from real life.
