Memoriam
Rachel can preserve her grandmother’s memories forever, but doing so means handing family history to the company that employs her.
First Night is a theatre diary for logging the shows you've seen and discovering what to see next.
In the near future, Memoriam can extract human memories and sell them as immersive virtual experiences. Rachel works there when her grandmother Rivka becomes the last living Holocaust survivor, giving Rachel a chance to preserve testimony that could otherwise disappear. As personal remembrance enters a commercial system, the consequences spread through their family.
A speculative family drama about memory, technology and historical inheritance, with humour alongside the ethical tension between preservation and commodification.
near-future drama, family history, ethical technology and stories about who controls memory.
