William Shakespeare's comedy follows four lovers who flee Athens into a forest ruled by Oberon and Titania, where the mischievous Puck interferes with their affections. Nearby, a group of amateur actors rehearse a play and stumble into the same supernatural chaos.
Romantic confusion, mistaken identities, magic, transformation and broad comedy, with several plots colliding before dawn. The play moves between young lovers, quarrelling fairies and the mechanicals' famously disastrous attempt to put on a tragedy.
