The story
Satsuki and Mei move with their father to a country house near the hospital where their mother is recovering. As they explore the surrounding woods, the sisters encounter Totoro and other spirits whose strange, gentle presence helps them navigate uncertainty, separation and the fears that ordinary family life cannot quite contain.
In the room
The play moves between domestic detail and child-sized fantasy, with live music and large-scale puppetry shaping the forest spirits and the sisters' changing sense of home.
Good fit if you like
gentle family stories, rural settings, childhood imagination and puppetry.
