The story
Created by SpitLip, this musical comedy retells the real 1943 intelligence operation in which British agents constructed a fictional officer and placed false military documents on a corpse. The plan depends on convincing the enemy that the dead man, his personal history and the secrets he carries are all exactly what they appear to be.
In the room
A five-performer musical that moves at speed through espionage, bureaucracy and wartime Britain, with actors swapping characters and genders throughout. Broad comedy and deliberately theatrical storytelling sit alongside quieter material about the overlooked people behind the operation and the human cost hidden beneath an ingenious plan.
Good fit if you like
fast ensemble musicals, British comedy, stranger-than-fiction history and shows that can switch from absurdity to something much more tender.
