The story
In Gary Owen's historical play, Owain Glyndŵr is declared an outlaw by Henry IV in 1400. Rather than accept his fate, Owain leads a rebellion that spreads beyond his own territory and challenges the king's hold on power. The two men are drawn into opposing struggles: Owain fights for his people's future, while Henry tries to defend his crown.
In the room
The play treats a political confrontation as a historical epic, with poetic language alongside the conflict between ruler and rebel. Questions of nationhood and authority sit beneath the struggle for survival.
