The story

Duncan Macmillan’s contemporary play follows Emma through treatment for drug and alcohol addiction, where the stories she tells about herself begin to collide with the realities she has been avoiding.

In the room

Intense psychological drama, flashes of abrasive dark humour and theatrical staging that puts you inside Emma’s unstable perspective. It is confronting without being simplistic, interested as much in identity and performance as in addiction itself.

Good fit if you like

Character-driven contemporary drama, psychologically inventive staging, dark humour and demanding central performances.
