Surinder juggles endless chores while a Bollywood ball beckons.
In the Bolly-woods, Surinder is stuck doing chores for her selfie-obsessed stepsisters, Lovely and Bubbly, with the outspoken cow Basanti as her closest ally. Prince Kavi, meanwhile, is facing family pressure to marry. A chance meeting brings them together before the Devi Godmother, a Bollywood Ball and a mysterious slipper complicate Surinder’s fortunes.
A British South Asian take on pantomime, mixing fairy-tale plotting with comedy, songs, dance and Bollywood and Desi influences. It keeps the broad characters and playful theatricality of panto while relocating Cinderella’s world into contemporary South Asian family culture.
