Revue
The Blues Brothers... Approved
Two men in black suits, hats and sunglasses front a live horn band and a trio of backing singers for a night of soul and rhythm and blues.
First Night is a theatre diary for logging the shows you've seen and discovering what to see next.
The story
A concert-style revue inspired by the Blues Brothers characters from the 1980 film, with Jake and Elwood Blues, a live band and the Bluettes backing singers. Soul, R&B, rock 'n' roll and gospel favourites are linked by comic patter and lively performances rather than a conventional story.
In the room
A high-energy party concert rather than a plot-driven musical, with songs such as Shake a Tail Feather, Think and Sweet Home Chicago, and plenty of encouragement to dance and sing along.
Good fit if you like
soul and R&B classics, cult film comedy and dance-along concerts.
