Robert Khan and Tom Salinsky’s political drama follows Roy Jenkins, Denis Healey and Tony Crosland through the battles that shaped the Labour Party in the 1970s. Friends, rivals and leading figures on the party’s right, all three have ideas about its future and ambitions of their own.
A three-hander built around political argument, shifting loyalties and sharply written exchanges rather than a broad sweep of Westminster history. The play moves between key moments from 1972 to 1980, including the struggle that followed Harold Wilson’s resignation, and draws on the real relationships between its three central figures.
