The Gruffalo
A quick-thinking mouse invents a monster to cross the woods.
A small mouse walks through the deep, dark wood, where a fox, an owl and a snake each see him as their next meal. He scares them away by describing an imaginary Gruffalo, only to meet the very creature he invented and face an even bigger test of nerve.
The story unfolds as a chain of woodland encounters, using songs, comic repetition and the mouse's increasingly elaborate bluff to keep the danger playful.
