The Labyrinth
Three young archaeology volunteers from the UK enter an ancient labyrinth and find the line between past and present starting to give way.
First Night is a theatre diary for logging the shows you've seen and discovering what to see next.
The story
Mandala Theatre Company's play follows three young volunteers whose expedition into the Labyrinth, a gateway to the ancient lands of Kemet and Egypt, becomes a personal search. As the excavation grows desperate, they question the history they were taught and confront ancestry, identity and belonging, spending their nights dreaming of a new earth where everyone belongs.
In the room
A play that moves between archaeological adventure and dreamlike astral travel, looking at global history through a decolonial lens.
Good fit if you like
