The story

The story begins in 1844, when a young Bavarian immigrant arrives in New York and is joined by his two brothers. Together they establish the business that becomes Lehman Brothers. Told across three parts, the play follows the family and company through generations of expansion towards the financial institution whose 2008 bankruptcy helped trigger a major financial crisis.
