The Marriage of Figaro

Figaro and Susanna are preparing to marry, but their employer Count Almaviva intends to pursue Susanna himself. With help from the Countess and a household full of competing desires, the couple devise a series of disguises and traps designed to protect their wedding and expose the Count's hypocrisy.

The four-act comic opera builds through rapid entrances, overheard conversations and increasingly complex ensembles, allowing several plots and emotional reactions to unfold at once.
