The women have been meeting above a local hotel to talk, cry and laugh without feeling guilty after losing children in the Aberfan disaster. Worried that wanting ordinary pleasures might seem frivolous, they quietly arrange for a Revlon representative to give them beauty advice, creating space for grief, guilt, humour and the uneasy attempt to feel normal again.
A true-story drama centred on conversation among bereaved mothers, using an apparently ordinary beauty demonstration to open up conflicting ways of living with grief.
