The story

A young woman longs for fame and escape, while a young man yearns for the woman he loves. Around them, a successful writer still wants a sense of achievement and an actress fears being overtaken by changing times. In an isolated country home, their ambitions and affections become entangled as disappointment turns their attention increasingly towards one another.

An ensemble drama of frustrated ambition and unreturned affection, using an enclosed country setting to bring artistic insecurity, romantic longing and generational tension into close contact.
