Daize is trying to keep her mother safe from Ben’s drug-dealing boss, while Ben enters her life from the other side of that threat. Their hostility begins to shift as the two young people find in each other a kind of understanding that the adults around them have failed to provide, putting a fragile connection inside a world already shaped by danger and mistrust.
