The story
In 1930s Alabama, Scout Finch watches her lawyer father, Atticus, defend Tom Robinson, a Black man accused of raping a white woman. Told through Scout's changing understanding of her neighbours, the courtroom case exposes how prejudice shapes both public justice and private life in their small Southern town.
