ComedyRomance

The story

In Shakespeare's comedy, Viola survives a shipwreck and believes her twin brother Sebastian has drowned. Disguised as a young man called Cesario, she enters the service of Duke Orsino, who sends her to woo Olivia on his behalf. Viola has feelings for Orsino, while Olivia falls for Cesario; meanwhile, members of Olivia's household plot to trick her stern steward, Malvolio.

In the room

Disguise and mistaken identity create two intertwined strands of comedy: confused courtship and a household prank. Much of the humour comes from what characters do not know about the people standing in front of them.

Good fit if you like

romantic mix-ups, mistaken identities, practical jokes and Shakespearean comedy.
