The story
Dylan Thomas's drama enters the dreams and private concerns of the people of Llareggub, a Welsh village filled with yearning, gossip and memories. Among its residents are those thinking of loves they have lost, shipmates who never returned and relationships that have disappointed them. Together their imagined lives reveal a community that is affectionate, contradictory and often very funny.
In the room
Rather than following one central dispute, the drama draws its interest from the different lives within the village. Romance, fantasy, humour and song mingle with sadness and remembrance.
