The story
Leonard Vole is accused of murdering a wealthy older woman who appeared ready to leave him her fortune. His barrister believes the case can be won, but Leonard's wife Romaine gives evidence that radically changes the shape of the trial, leaving motive, loyalty and truth open to question.
